I want to personally thank each and every person who made to the first (hopefully of many) Yoga and Wine Afternoon in Kirkland. Today was a bit of a test run so thank you all for being my guinea pigs!!
The sun was filtering through the windows into our practice room and we had an hour of yoga, followed by some yummy snacks and delicious wine from the Yakima Valley. Once we return from our travels I hope that this can become a monthly event. It was a beautiful thing to bring people together for the purpose of yoga and socializing.
Sangha, a sanksrit word referring to community, is such an important piece of a yoga practice. For the last few weeks I've been mostly practicing on my own and while I think it is very important to maintain a home practice, something almost magical happens when yoga is done in a community setting. The connections formed between people become pure and true and for a moment we can all live in the present and enjoy the company of friends.
