October 2-8: Goodbye Seattle, I'll be back soon!

Teaching Schedule:

Monday 7pm, Pro Sports Bellevue, Yoga Basics (last class)
Tuesday 8am, Google Seattle, All Levels (last class)
Tuesday 5:45pm, Pro Sports Bellevue, Vinyasa Flow (last class)

Well Seattle (and surrounding areas), it has been really fun.  Not nearly long enough, but really fun.  I hope to be back often, taking workshops, teaching workshops, etc.  Who knows what the future will bring?  I have no idea and I've stopped trying to guess.  I am looking forward to the next piece of the puzzle- building a life in Portland in a cute apartment with our cat and a fireplace and city of super fun people.

Before we head to Portland however, we are headed to Boulder to visit family and enjoy the cool crisp mountain air and get some practice time in at the Yoga Workshop (Richard Freeman's studio).   I'm looking forward to unwinding for a few days after all the moving crazyness so I can arrive in Portland ready to set up classes and start teaching.

In my last few weeks of teaching in Seattle I've been exploring where my inspiration as a teacher comes from.  I keep hearing the voices of my former teachers in my head, remembering what it was the resonated with me as I began teaching and deepening my practice.  I've practiced with lots of different people in Seattle but it is my teachers from LA, that I spent so many hours practicing and talking with that I keep returning to.  It seems so simple but somehow it is my motivation for this week- I can only teach from what I know- and I can only be present and open and truthful in my teaching when I teach from excites me about the practice of yoga.  There are a million ways to teach, we each have our own voice and our own passions to share.  If we are not true to those things I don't think we can be effective as teachers.
