November 14-20: More New Classes!

Hey all you early risers- this is the week!  6:30am classes at People's Yoga in St John's on Monday, Wednesday AND Friday.  Let your practice brighten and warm your day as we move into Winter. On that same note, the Thursday morning 7am class is going away- so if you have been coming to that class please make a note of the change.  Also starting this week I will be teaching Monday mornings at the brand new PrAna store that just opened in North West. 

And for those of you who enjoy planning ahead, I've added a list of the dates/ times and places I am subbing under my schedule. If anything changes, I will post it here.

I've returned to my old tattered copy of the Yoga Sutras this week:  Book 2, Sutra 46:  Sthira Sukham Asanam.  This translates to "Asana is a steady comfortable posture."  So if we are practicing a pose and experience pain or discomfort, are we really practicing asana?  The physical practice of yoga helps us to release tension and discomfort in the body so we can comfortable when going about our days or sitting to meditate for extended periods of time.  Next time you are on your mat- where is the strength that is required to keep the integrity of the pose and where can you release and soften?
