Lessons Learned and New Beginnings

As September comes to an end and my time in LA after five years begins to wrap up I can't help but take some time to reflect on my time here and what it has meant to me and what I have learned.  I arrived in Los Angeles with my boyfriend (now husband), my cat and all our belongings shoved into a Toyota Corolla after spending 8 months in lovely Boulder, CO.  I had a vague idea of what I thought I wanted to do with my life but no definite plans.  5 years later I find myself in a job I love with close friends in a city that has had put me through the ringer and made me stronger in so many ways.

I've learned what is really important to me- my family, good friends, good food, yoga and taking time to enjoy the simple things in life.  After many years of exploring many styles of yoga, I've learned that Ashtanga helps me be a better person on and off my yoga mat, thank you Sonya for that.  I will never forget the deep connections I've made here with all the wonderful people that make up this city.

And so, Los Angeles, I want to thank you for helping to make me the person I am and leading me towards the person I want to be.
