March 18-25: Free Lucy Event and Happenings This Week

Tomorrow (March 18th) at the Lucy store in Bridgeport Village, after the Shamrock Run, come cool down with a free class designed to stretch your muscles and calm your mind AND be entered to win a $50 gift certificate to the store as well as 20% off whatever you spend tomorrow.  We also have goody bags- its going to be a great event.  Have fun on your run and we will see you at 10am!  I'll be teaching for an hour and then there will be plenty of time to hang out and enjoy refreshments.

Ease pose surves a purpose- there are poses that bring our energy up, or down, open our hips, our upper backs, shoulders, etc.  When we've been practicing for a while we can begin to feel the subtle shifts in energy and learn what poses may serve us well on any particular day.  I've been talking to a lot of students lately about burn out- in life and in practice.  We all experience it from time to time, too much going on and not enough time in the day to do it all, sometimes just getting to our mat, practicing 1 or 2 poses, and taking Savasana is all we can do.  It is important to honor that- to listen to our bodies.  It is also important however, not to simply give in to our desires to take a nap and take the time to really check in- why do we feel the way we do?  Would a boost of energy help get us through the rest of our day?  Do we need to shake things up a bit to keep them interesting?

This week on the mat we are going to explore the finer details of plank and chataranga to keep our energy up and moving throughout our week.  If you have questions, bring them to class-  I apologize in advance for getting a bit nerdy about alignment and anatomy this week, but I'll make it fun!


Upcoming Workshops:

Celebrate the return of Spring with an afternoon of uplifting yoga.  These 2 hour workshops will focus on heart opening backbends and twists to 'spring clean' our bodies, mind and souls.  We will explore asana, meditation, chanting and pranayama to welcome in this beautiful time of year.
