January is nearly halfway over- the holiday season is behind us and life is (slowly perhaps) making its way back to a calmer place. As you begin to settle into your new year consider looking at your routine- are there things that need to change? Is something no longer serving you that you can let go of? Is there something that would feel right to add. The beginning of the year is such a natural time to transition- make resolutions and examine our lives. Give yourself the luxury of this time to discover what you need from your life and your practice.
On that same note- I see it every year- pace yourself! The best advice I ever received from one of my teachers was to practice today in a way that allows you to practice again tomorrow. If you stress yourself out or push yourself too hard from the get go it is easy to burn out. Start slow- there is no rush!! Your practice is meant to untie your knots- not create new ones so don't stress or be too hard on yourself. Just think baby steps, a little bit every day.
