"If thoughts arise, remain present in that state;
if no thoughts arise, remain present in that state;
there is no difference in the presence of either state."
  -Garab Dorje, Buddhist Master

Happy Monday Everyone! After an amazing weekend of sun in Seattle this week is off to a great start.  I'm teaching in Greenlake on Thursday, if you are around PLEASE come! It is my first class with the YogaLife studio and I am very much looking forward to it.

I've been thinking a lot about what it means to be present this week.  It is so easy to remain present when things are easy and going great.  When things get confusing or challenging it can be more of a challenge to stay with it and not just check out.  Staying with the challenge can be the most rewarding part of being present though, that is where there is room to change, to really watch how we react to things and realize that we have a choice.  We can stay with this thought or feeling, no matter how strange or uncomfortable it may seem and perhaps find a bit of light in it or at least find a way that we can learn from it.  I like the quote highlighted above because it reminds me that just being present is the work, some days will be easy and some days it will be hard but either you are doing the work and that is where the transformation comes from.

May your week be filled with light and love.
